Our basic goal is to is to reach the North Pole and thus to close another
page in the history of Arctic exploration ceremonially as the current
millennium is drawing to an end and the next one is about to begin.
We are to feel and experience the astounding power of the nuclear-powered ice-breaker as it forges ahead breaking the way through
enormous drifting ice blocks and embacles up to three meters thick.
We are going to watch the spectacular arctic wild life in the gorgeous
setting of snow-peaked mountains and ice. On our way we shall meet
polar bears, walruses, whales, seals, white polar gulls and other species of
arctic birds.
We shall watch the boundless polar expanses and visit the
remaining places and objects of historical interest dating back to the first
expeditions of trailblazers and pioneers of polar exploration.
We shall, in fact, make a voyage aboard the world's most powerful ice-
breaking vessel.
